SABUS was formed in 1984 as the successor to Software Services, a company wholly owned by William Barnes, one of the founders of SABUS.
Previously, Software Services was organized in 1977 to provide contract computer programming services to the Alaska business community. The company originally specialized in public utility work providing technical expertise in the IBM/370, HP/3000, and Microdata/PICK environments.
SABUS provides the Alaskan and Northwest business communities AIX/HACMP implementaion, network design and security services, implementation of IBM Spectrum Protect (Tivoli Storage Manager), disaster planning and recovery, and contract programming. These services are available Globally by special arrangement (Will Travel).
